Binder Clips Buying Guide: Sizes, Uses and Bulk Ordering

Binder clips are one of the most used items in any office, and one of the easiest to get wrong. Too small, and the clip won't close over the papers; too large, and a thin set slips out. Here is how to pick the right size and plan a bulk order.

Why binder clips

  • No holes. Unlike staples or punching, a clip leaves documents untouched, which matters for originals and certificates.
  • Reusable. Clips come off and go back on as papers move.
  • Easy to rearrange. Pages can be added, removed or reordered in seconds.
  • Strong grip. The folded steel jaws hold a thick set firmly, and the wire handles fold flat for stacking.

They are also handy beyond paper: holding cables in place, sealing packets, or hanging notices and samples.

Choosing the size

Binder clip size is the width of the jaw. Wider clips also have a deeper jaw, so they close over thicker stacks. KINGG supplies black binder clips in five sizes:

  • 19 mm: small sets, such as receipts, bills, notes and short reports.
  • 25 mm: everyday office documents: letters, forms and memos.
  • 32 mm: thicker sets, such as reports, files in progress and exam papers.
  • 41 mm: large sets: client files, booklets and documents for meetings.
  • 51 mm: the thickest stacks, such as legal papers, bound sets and bulky reports.

The size you need depends on the paper weight as well as the sheet count, so if you're unsure, test with one box before ordering cartons. Most offices keep two or three sizes: a small one for daily papers and a large one for thick sets.

Colour-coding

Clips are a quick way to sort papers by priority, department or status. Keep one size for each type of document, or pair clips with coloured folders or filing sheets.

Who buys binder clips in bulk

  • Corporate offices: daily paperwork in every department.
  • Schools and colleges: exam papers, answer sheets and records.
  • Stationery shops and distributors: a fast-moving item with steady reorders.
  • Co-working spaces and print shops: shared supplies used every day.

Packing for bulk orders

Binder clips are packed 12 to a box. Standard packing by size is 3600 pcs (19 mm), 2880 pcs (25 mm), 1440 pcs (32 mm), 1440 pcs (41 mm) and 720 pcs (51 mm). Ordering in these multiples keeps cartons sealed and counting simple.
